Autism Ideas in Midlothian

Autism Network Scotland have decided to offer a virtual experience this year with a live launch of the conference on Monday 5^th October by Clare Haughey, MSP, Minister for Mental Health, so please save the date in your calendar.

Rather than offer a one day programme as per the March conference, they will instead be offering a suite of presentations, featuring a variety of speakers and organisations, covering a range of topics.  Topics will include “Autism and Double empathy problem” with Dr Damian Milton;  “The Reflective Journey” with Prof Andy McDonnell; “The Accountability Gap: Why Scotland Needs an Autism Commissioner” with Charlene Tait and Nick Ward of Scottish Autism and National Autistic Society respectively as well as updates from a host of charities involved in the National Awareness campaign to name a few.  Further details on all the speakers and presentations will be updated on the conference page on their website as well as via their social media platforms, namely Facebook and Twitter over the next few weeks.

The presentations will be live from the 5^th October and can be accessed via the conference page on the Autism Network Scotland website (https://bit.ly/2Rd4rs8).  The presentations will be available to view for an initial 2 month period, so please “dip in and out” as often and for as long as you prefer.

They will be hosting a further Q & A session with selected speakers on Friday 30^th October and welcome comments and questions on any of the conference presentations no later than midday Friday 23^rd October.  You can do this by writing to Lesley Evans at autism.network@strath.ac.uk
