Autism Network Scotland and the Autism Resource Centre in Glasgow have been collaborating with Glasgow 2018 on the forthcoming European Games which are coming to the city from 2nd – 12th August to support an autism aware pilot in a range of sporting venues.
For the pilot, we have been allocated a restricted number of tickets across 2 or 3 sessions on a couple of dates for the venues listed below. To ensure we get nationwide representation, we would like to extend the opportunity to attend to families, individuals and special interest groups across Scotland. I would be grateful therefore, if you could send me the contact details or point me in the right direction of any autism specific groups, Aspergers groups, community groups, service/client carers groups, charitable organisations, schools in your region etc and I will send further details to them for distribution amongst their members who are autistic individuals, support workers and carers and / or siblings.
Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome (Cycling) – Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August
The Hydro (Gymnastics) – Friday 3rd and Friday 10th August
Knightswood Park (BMX) – Friday 10th and Saturday 11th August
Autism aware Glasgow 2018 volunteers will also be on hand at the autism aware quiet spaces located at Cathkin Braes (Mountain Biking) on the 7th August; Knightswood Park on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th August and at Glasgow Green throughout the Championships from Thursday 2nd – Sunday 12th August.
I look forward to receiving your suggestions.
Many thanks and kind regards
